In the difficult conditions during the Covid-19 pandemic, BHANSA managed to implement several previously planned projects of importance for air navigation safety. One of these projects is putting into service a new system Time Reference System - TRS manufactured by Meinberg - Lantime M4000 in the Approach and Aerodrome Control Units (JPAKL) Sarajevo, Mostar and Tuzla.
Approach Radar Control Sarajevo
TRS works in a way that its input segments receive accurate time data from the GPS satellite system, after which the process segment processes it and forwards it in a certain format via the output segment to other systems and clocks, such as VCS, VRRS, SmartTools, Eurocat, console and wall clocks.
TRS has a completely redundant architecture, ie it consists of two systems that are in parallel operation. One system delivers time data to other systems and clocks, and the other system takes over the delivery of time data if the previously active system has problems in operation for any reason. The TRS has the ability to monitor operation and configuration via a monitoring computer, equipped with appropriate software.
Adjustment of equipment in JPAKL Mostar
During the implementation of the project, staff training was completed and the procedure for maintenance, configuration and supervision of the TRS was adopted.
In accordance with the applicable procedures, BiH Directorate of civil aviation (BHDCA) accepted the change in the ATM functional system.
