Notice to operators for free flight aircraft

We would like to inform the users of the airspace of BiH, and especially the operators of free flight aircrafts that the Rulebook on free flight aircrafts, which has been published in the "Official Gazette of BiH", no. 68/21.. The mentioned change refers primarily to the harmonization of this area with the amended Rulebook on the conditions and manner of using the airport ("Official Gazette of BiH", no. 54/21), which we have already informed about. 

The registration of the terrain for flying with free flight aircrafts has been amended in accordance with the already mentioned regulations and significantly reduces the requirements for users, and currently requires the users of the terrain to submit a "Declaration of compliance of users with segments of ensuring flight safety in the field", according to the BHDCA. In this way, the registration of a free flight field is significantly facilitated and implies that the field operator assumes responsibility for operations of free flight aircrafts and BHDCA records and disapproves the submitted Statement.

We also encourage operators of free flight aircrafts to focus on the safe use of airspace and to become familiar with the classification and registration requirements for zones in which performing of operations of free flight aircrafts is permitted. This means that operators of free flight aircrafts still have obligations as follows:

1.                  Operational field surfaces, as well as its obstacle limitation and protection surfaces, and other areas associated with the field, have no features or characteristics making it unsafe for operation.

2.            All personnel using field are qualified and trained to take off / land in the field.

3.            Possession of consent of landowner on the use of the land. 

4.            Flight zone approved by the competent authority.

The procedure for approval of the flight zone by the competent authority is carried out in accordance with the procedure for changing the organization and structure of airspace in FIR Sarajevo adopted by BH Airspace Management Committee in a way that airspace users shall contact BHANSA on the Request Form for Change of Organization and Structure of Airspace in FIR Sarajevo.

Also in case of need for establishment of temporary (ad hoc) airspace structures, civil airspace users should address, in accordance with the procedure for establishment of temporary (ad hoc) airspace structures, with the Request for the Establishment of a Temporary (ad hoc) Airspace Structure to a Civil Aviation Authority (CIV AA) from BHANSA on the following form: "Request for the Establishment of a Temporary (ad hoc) Airspace Structure".
