BHANSA in Cooperation with Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument (TAIEX) of the European Commission organized online Workshops for BHANSA's employees

The change in the method of execution of the workshop represented a kind of challenge for the organizers, but also for lecturers, since it was held on a platform that was a novelty for all participants.

Due to the situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the originally planned four-day TAIEX workshop in Mostar was unfortunately, like many other events, postponed, and two separate online workshops were held instead. The change in the method of execution of the workshop represented a kind of challenge for the organizers, but also for lecturers, since it was held on a platform that was a novelty for all participants.

The first workshop called “TAIEX Online Expert Mission on Performance Based Navigation“ was held on July 8, 2020 starting at 9 a.m. The workshop aimed to provide to air traffic controllers in ATS Mostar, insight into news from the field of Performance Based Navigation (PBN), which is a driver for an enhanced digital data quality. The lecturers emphasized the requirements of air traffic controllers, regarding the upcoming digitalization of ATMs, as well as the obligations for all stakeholders involved in the performing of air traffic services according to the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 716/2014.

The second and final Workshop was held on July 15, 2020, also starting at 9 a.m. on the topic “TAIEX Online Expert Mission on ATM digizalization and AIM“ , included a wider audience such as air traffic controllers, ATM, ATS and AIS specialists. The focus was on general topics such as the European ATM Master Plan, SWIM, TBO, etc.

The lecturers at the workshops were prominent French experts from the above mentioned fields, Mr. Philippe Notry and Bruno Talavera, while the local TAIEX  Coordinator Boris Ćorić, with the cooperation of IBF Virtual Events, were in charge of the technical and logistical success of the Workshop. During those two days, a total of 46 participants attended the workshop.
